Dr. Akram Alfantazi has been selected to be a Fellow of the Canadian Institute of Mining, Metallurgy and Petroleum (CIM). The prestigious award is in recognition of his outstanding contribution to the metallurgical industry, through his work on corrosion and electrometallurgy. It will be conferred at the Annual Awards Gala in Edmonton on May 7th.
Dr. Alfantazi is a Professor in the Department of Materials Engineering and Associate Dean, Research and Graduate Studies of the Faculty of Applied Science. He joins previous CIM Fellows in the Department: Dr. Keith Brimacombe (1988), Dr. Indira Samarasekera (1999) and Dr. David Dreisinger (2009).
